I like how the short, stacked lines near the end read: "Descending." Down my stomach. Into my belly button. And lower still.") slow the pace right when the scene needs it to.
I took on the same challenge with a piece called 'Morning Threshold' – set the morning after, working entirely through restraint and threshold-crossing rather than anatomy.
